Learn About Micheal L. Chidester
Michael L. Chidester has been practicing law in the Central Georgia area for 30 years. His extensive experience began with his service as law assistant for the Honorable Walter C. McMillan, Jr., Judge of the Superior Courts for the Middle Judicial Circuit of Georgia. He later served as Assistant District Attorney in the same circuit, and he practiced law with the firms of Doremus & Jones of Metter, Georgia and Cheney & Cheney of Reidsville, Georgia.
In 1991, Mr. Chidester opened his sole practice in Macon, Georgia, moving to Byron, Georgia in 1997. He maintains an office in Byron, and he also has an office in Macon, where he is associated with the firm of Lester M. Miller. Mr. Chidester received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1982. In 1985, he graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law with his Juris Doctor.

Mr. Chidester was admitted to the practice of law in Georgia on July, 1985. He is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia. He is admitted to practice law in the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals, all Georgia Courts of Special or General Jurisdiction, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts, including the Northern District of Georgia, Middle District of Georgia and Southern District of Georgia.
In addition to his legal career, Mr. Chidester is very involved in his community. He was elected to serve as a member of the Byron City Council in 2001, and he has since been re-elected three times. He has served as the Mayor-Pro-Tem for the city since his initial election, and he is now serving his 15th year as a councilman.
He is a past Chairman of both the Peach County Planning and Zoning Board and the Peach County Chamber of Commerce. He now serves on the Board of the Byron CVB, DDA and Main Street program. He's a Past Master of Mickey Fuller Lodge, F & AM. Mr. Chidester resides in Byron, Georgia with his wife Karla, and son Kenneth.
